In 2019, the AAUW Reno Branch established a scholarship that is managed by
the Nevada Women’s Fund

This scholarship offers financial assistance to women who are pursuing a degree that will improve their careers, allow for a career change, and/or enable reentry into the workforce. This financial support can be used for any expense that helps the individual attain her identified educational goals. Special circumstances such as barriers or hardships experienced by the applicant will be taken into consideration. Award decisions are to be based on financial need, family situations, and/or educational goals.

We offer two scholarships of $2,000 each to students attending the University of Nevada, Reno or Truckee Meadows Community College.

Donations to the scholarship fund are tax deductible and are made directly to the Nevada Women’s Fund AND it’s easy to do.

To donate with a credit card:

• Text NWFAAUW to 44321. This will bring up a link on your device that will allow you to donate. Any donations that come through this option will be allocated to our scholarship fund.
• Go to https://www.nevadawomensfund.org/donate/ and make a general donation. To ensure that it goes to the AAUW scholarship fund, check the box next to “Make this gift on behalf of an organization”, then enter AAUW Reno Scholarship.
